Soft, clear and flowing, the Koshi Aqua Chime is the Water-inspired melody from the classic Koshi 4 Elements collection.

Handcrafted and individually hand-tuned at the foot of the French Pyrenees, Aqua contains eight steel rods arranged around the notes A • D • F • G • A • D • F • A, forming a pentatonic D minor scale.

Each rod is tuned by hand with an adjusted 432Hz reference using Koshi-specific harmonic correction, allowing the lower and higher notes to respond naturally within the complete harmonic structure.

The result is a fluid, spacious and introspective musical character, with individual notes unfolding into softer harmonics around the treated bamboo resonance chamber.

Aqua can be played by hand during meditation, yoga and sound practice, combined with singing bowls and gongs, or suspended in a sheltered position where movement of the air allows the chime to play naturally.

Within the Koshi 4 Elements collection, Aqua represents Water and may symbolically evoke movement, depth, flow and reflection.

#### Aqua • Water

Aqua is the Water melody within the Koshi 4 Elements collection.

Its pentatonic D minor scale gives it a soft, fluid and open musical character.

Compared with the deeper grounding quality of Terra or the brighter movement of Ignis, Aqua feels gentler and more reflective.

Its sound may evoke movement, depth and flow, while the changing order of notes gives each movement of the chime its own character.

The Water association is symbolic and musical rather than a claim of fixed energetic effects.

#### Notes & Harmonic Structure

Aqua is built around the notes:

A • D • F • G • A • D • F • A

These notes form a pentatonic D minor scale.

Each of the eight rods is individually tuned by hand.

Rather than tuning each rod in isolation, Koshi applies its own harmonic correction so that the lower and higher notes sit naturally within the complete ensemble.

This creates a coherent harmonic structure where individual tones interact with one another instead of sounding separate or disconnected.

The result is the flowing, layered sound that gives Aqua its distinctive identity.

#### Adjusted 432Hz Tuning

Koshi Aqua uses an adjusted 432Hz reference together with Koshi-specific harmonic correction.

This does not mean that every rod produces a single 432Hz tone.

Instead, the 432Hz reference forms part of the wider tuning process used to balance the complete set of notes and harmonics.

Each rod is tuned until it finds its correct place within the instrument's overall harmonic structure.

This relationship between fundamental notes and higher harmonics is a large part of what gives Aqua its fluidity and depth.
