Meo Finger Bell in Brass (56mm) A rare ritual instrument of the H‘mong (Vietnam). The bell can vary its toning sound literally by your fingers. Grasping it losely or tightly changes it subtle pitches.
Meo Finger Bell can be used to produce a fine, resounding tone which can be modified with the remaining fingers. The finger bell is cast from metal with raised mantra as decoration. To play the bell slip it over your middle finger and shake gently to get the ball ringing. Then close your hand around it to muffle and change the tone. Experiment by shaking the bell using different timing and rhythm and you will be amazed by the variety of sounds coming from it. Perfect for cleansing crystals.
The Meo hill tribe are found living in and around the mountain regions of Northern Vietnam. Their lives are rich in colour, tradition music and dance. Known mainly as hill farmers providing food for their families, they also produce a wide variety of local crafts.
