A traditional Quena flute from the Peruvian Andes. This flute is tuned in G and end blown. Supplied with a traditional cloth carry bag. Note case bag colour will vary. One shown is indication of style, all are locally handmade.
Quena Flute. The Quena is the traditional flute of the Andes & Peru. Though it is played all over South America. It has 6 finger holes and one thumb hole and open at both ends. To make a sound the player closes the top end of the instrument between the chin and lower lip and blows downward over the notch cut out. Beautifully hand crafted from wood and benefiting from a white mouth piece for superior sounding.
Use: Quena’s are used widely in ritual and ceremony by mountain shamans and local peoples, welcoming you, calling on the spirits and keepers of the mountains and to guide you.
