A new design in power cord which comes with a slim base at the bottom of the lamp and is extra long in length. There is no need for a wood base as the lamp on any Glass Top or Polished surface gives a very nice reflection and looks absolutely stunning.

Our Lava lamps come from high quality graded raw stock that are put together with great care and attention. We have two ranges, Natural and Carved. Natural rugged looking salt lamps are made from harder more dense salt. Carved rock salt lamps use a softer salt to allow them to be hand carved.

How salt lamps work: The Rock Salt naturally attracts moisture, allergens and dust particles, with the light on, the gentle warming effect removes the moisture and attracts dust & allergens from its surroundings. The lamp warms the salt minerals and removes the moisture from the salt firstly and then attracted it from the surrounding air, it then releases negative ions back. These benefits are under great debate. One thing is for sure, the lamps look great and add a great ambient subtle glow for meditation or any warming and calming environment.

One of the main physical properties of these lamps is that they absorb moisture from the air. The Natural un-shaped lamps have a higher resilience to moisture than the softer carved versions. With regular use regular any moisture build up is removed. (See care and maintenance).

Care and maintenance:

• Place on a heat resistance surface. Make sure airflow is not hindered around the base due to an electrical component.
• Clean using a damp cloth only, do not apply cleaning products or immerse in water. The lamp might exhibit "sweating" on the surface - moisture is absorbed from the atmosphere by the salt and driven off again by the warmth of the bulb - a normal process that drives the air purification effect of the lamp. Please note that moisture from the lamp may mark the surface the lamp is resting on.
• Regular use is advised using the lamp, if it is not regularly lit it can continue to absorb water and can start to dust or crumble. This can also cause the fuse or bulb to blow. To remedy this: Disconnect from any electrical outlet.  Wipe over and dry any obvious signs, replace the fuse and bulb and switch back on.
• Note: We check all lamps before they leave us making sure everything is working. We are based in the Lake District 300 yards from the Lake and generally find that the hand carved lamps can be less resilient than the rugged natural lamps if not used. This is remedied as by the above.
