Peruvian Sahumerio Incense Sticks 6 x 4″ – Incienso Ritual
Traditional Cleansing Incense • Shamanic Ceremony • Despacho & Space Clearing

Peruvian Incienso Sahumerio incense sticks originate from Central and South America, particularly Peru, where they have long been used in ritual, celebration, prayer, and spiritual cleansing.

Traditionally burned by Q’ero shaman paqo's and Indigenous peoples of the Andes, Sahumerio is valued for its grounding, purifying smoke and its ability to prepare sacred space before ceremony or despacho offerings.

Handmade using a natural paper paste infused with traditional plant ingredients, these incense sticks produce a deep, earthy, slightly sweet and smoky aroma. Their scent is rich and grounding, ideal for meditation, healing rituals, prayer work, and energetic cleansing.

Often used on its own or blended with raw resins such as Copal, Frankincense, or Myrrh, Sahumerio creates a strong aromatic field that supports focus, intention-setting, and ceremonial atmosphere.

Can be used per stick or broken into smaller piece's. Widely used in despacho rituals, celebration and cleansing rituals. Light weight natural, paper infused ingredients.

About Peruvian Incienso Sahumerio

Sahumerio incense has long been used throughout the Andes and Amazon regions for purification and blessing. In traditional practice, smoke is understood as a vehicle for prayer — carrying intention upward and clearing heavy or stagnant energy from people, objects, and spaces.

The aromatic blend of palo santo, copal, saw palmetto and native herbs creates a calming, earthy smoke that feels grounding yet uplifting. It is often used:

• Before ceremony to cleanse the space
• During ritual to hold sacred focus
• After prayer to seal intention
• In homes to remove heavy energy
• During meditation for grounding and clarity

Because it is a smokier incense, it works particularly well outdoors or in open spaces where airflow supports both comfort and symbolic release.

Suggestions for Use

To use, light the end of the stick and allow it to catch flame. Let it burn briefly before gently extinguishing the flame, allowing the aromatic smoke to rise.

You may use the entire stick or break off a smaller section for shorter sessions. The incense can be relit and reused multiple times.

For deeper aromatic layering, add a small pinch of Copal, Myrrh, or Frankincense resin beneath or on top of the lit section. This intensifies the fragrance and creates a fuller ceremonial atmosphere.

As with all cleansing practices, set a clear intention before beginning. This simple act strengthens the experience and deepens connection.
