The Place — Sierra Nevada & Desert Forests

Spend a night sleeping under the stars in the Mojave Desert or the Eastern Sierra and you may wake to frost on your sleeping bag, the air crisp and cold. As the sun crests the horizon and warms the red bark and deep green leaves of surrounding junipers and cedars, the air becomes perfumed with a sharp, sweet aroma.

Redolent of warm leather and desert varnish—a sun-baked mixture of resin, minerals and clay—this scent lies at the heart of our love song to these arid and mountainous landscapes. Sierra Forest captures that moment: raw, grounding and alive.

We formulate Wilderness Perfume by distilling and extracting fragrance from wildflowers, plants, bark, moss, mushrooms and tree trimmings harvested on the trail. All of our products are named for the wild places they come from.

We are building a new fragrance grammar of the American West. Our work is rooted in the simple belief that nothing smells better than the forest—and that the only way to bring this beauty home is to strap on your boots and go there.
