What is an Inner Cloth?

An inner cloth is a sacred textile used by spiritual practitioners or shamans. It serves various purposes, including decoration, wrapping, and holding sacred prayers and artifacts. Often used as a centrepiece or personal medicine bundle, it is paired with a larger outer cloth (mesa - mestana) for wrapping and safekeeping. In shamanic practices, it functions as a sacred altar cloth, holding transformations, sacred objects, and talismans during personal development and ceremonies.
