- Design & Appearance: Selenite candle holder. Selenite is a soft style white opaque material. This is a tumblestone, smooth and oval sometimes square. In other forms is is quite brittle and can have small shards as it has a grain to it. Selenite typically appears in long, wand-like formations with a glassy or pearly luster. It can also be found in flat, plate-like formations known as selenite blades or in large, clear, and transparent crystal clusters known as selenite desert roses
