What is Palo Santo?
Palo Santo (Bursera graveolens), meaning "Holy Sacred Wood," is closely related to Frankincense, Myrrh, and Copal. This sacred tree, native to South America, has been revered for centuries for its powerful cleansing and purifying properties. The wood is naturally dried, sometimes kiln-dried, before being processed into incense sticks, incense cones, or cold-water distilled into pure essential oil and gum resin incense.
Ethically wild-harvested and honoured, Palo Santo plays a vital role in sustainability. The tree is never cut down while alive but sourced from naturally fallen trees. Sustainable replanting and reforestation programs are in place, supporting local communities and ensuring the preservation of the species for future generations.
Its natural fragrance offers uplifting scents of citrus, pine, and mint, filling any space with a calming energy. Traditionally used by shamans and indigenous peoples of the Andes, Palo Santo continues to be valued for its spiritual and holistic benefits.

Appearance
Palo santo is a highly resinous wood incense. The appearance can change depending on the time, method and part of the tree the incense came from and how it was dried. Typically, the wood incense sticks are used in rituals and ceremony to cleanse away negative energies and spirits.
