Qero Hats, Bands & Chumpi Belts
Qero Ritual Hats, Chumpi Belts & Ceremonial Bands
We are honoured to present Qero Shaman ceremonial hats, bands, and chumpi belts, handcrafted by the Indigenous Q’ero people of Peru. Descendants of the ancient Incas, the Q’ero Paqos (spiritual leaders) weave these sacred textiles to preserve and share their cultural and spiritual heritage. Each item is created with deep intention, connecting wearer and ceremony to the Andean philosophy of Ayni, reciprocity, balance, and harmony with all life.

About Qero Hats, Bands & Chumpi Belts
Ceremonial Hats & Bands
Ceremonial hats, often adorned with vibrant woven bands, signify spiritual intent and the wearer’s role within a ritual. Bands can be worn on hats, placed on altars, or tied around sacred bundles during despacho offerings, symbolising blessings and spiritual connection.
Chumpi Belts
Chumpi belts are long, intricately woven textiles designed to hold and protect sacred chumpi stones, which are powerful shamanic healing tools. These belts also represent the binding of energies in ceremonial work and the protection of the sacred.
Craftsmanship & Symbolism
Each piece is made from naturally dyed alpaca or sheep wool, using traditional hand-weaving techniques passed down through generations. The patterns depict cosmic and earthly forces, sun, water, mountains, and stars, reflecting the Q’ero’s deep reverence for Pachamama (Mother Earth) and the natural world.
Relationship to Other Spiritual Tools
In a full shamanic ceremonial set, the mestana (outer cloth) displays the visible world, the unkuna (inner cloth) holds the hidden spiritual realm, and the chumpi belt or band secures and protects the sacred tools. Hats, worn by the Paqo, symbolise authority and spiritual readiness, while bands and belts unite the practitioner’s intent with the ceremony.
Cultural & Community Impact
By acquiring these textiles, you are directly supporting Q’ero artisans in the high Andes, helping sustain ancient weaving traditions and empowering small indigenous communities. These creations are not just ritual tools—they are living stories woven into art.
