Abalone Smudging Shell 4–5" • Rustic Green & Brown Mama Cocha Ritual Shell
Bring a more natural, earthy character to altar, ritual and smoke-cleansing practice with this rustic Green & Brown Abalone shell.
Measuring approximately 4–5", each shell is gently cleaned but left largely in its organic state, preserving the rough outer texture, natural markings and varied ocean-formed colouring. The inside displays iridescent nacre with green, brown, white and soft pink tones.
Its compact size makes it a practical altar vessel, offering bowl, water-element symbol or smoke-cleansing shell for holistic, spiritual and ceremonial use.
Within some contemporary Andean-inspired traditions, Abalone may also be associated with Mama Cocha / Mama Qucha — “Mother Sea” or “Mother of the Waters” — adding symbolism around water, reciprocity, nourishment and the natural world.

What Makes the Rustic Finish Different?
Unlike more polished Abalone shells, these pieces are intentionally left in a more natural condition.
That means you may see:
- rougher outer texture
- earthy green and brown colouring
- natural pits or growth marks
- irregular edges
- varied shell thickness
- subtle internal nacre rather than a highly finished appearance
These features are part of the shell’s natural character rather than faults.
The more organic look makes this version especially suited to nature-inspired altars, earthy ritual spaces and practitioners who prefer less processed ceremonial objects.
