Decorative, symbolic and versatile, this Lotus Incense Burner combines a sculpted lotus form with the Eight Auspicious Symbols traditionally associated with Tibetan Buddhist art.

Made from zinc alloy with a warm antique bronze effect finish, the lidded burner can be used with incense sticks, cones and, when prepared correctly with a suitable layer of incense sand, charcoal discs for loose resin incense.

The removable lid and compact 8cm height make it a striking addition to an altar, meditation area or spiritual space, while its multi-use design allows different forms of incense to be enjoyed from one burner.

Incense sand is sold separately.

Multi-Use Incense Burner

One of the most practical features of this burner is its versatility.

For incense sticks, the stick may be positioned through a suitable opening in the decorative lid where it fits securely. Alternatively, adding incense sand inside the bowl allows a stick to be anchored directly into the sand.

For incense cones, a layer of clean, dry incense sand helps protect the base from concentrated heat and collects ash and residue.

For loose resins such as frankincense or myrrh, the bowl can also be prepared with a deeper bed of incense sand before placing a suitable lit charcoal disc on top.

Incense sand is not included and must be purchased separately.

Using with Incense Sticks

To use with an incense stick, make sure the stick sits securely and vertically or at the intended angle.

Light the coated end, allow the flame to establish briefly, then gently blow it out so the tip smoulders.

If the lid opening does not hold a particular stick securely, remove the lid and anchor the stick in incense sand instead.

Always position the burner where all falling ash will remain safely contained.

Using with Incense Cones

Add a suitable layer of incense sand to the bowl before placing the cone on top.

Light the tip of the cone, allow it to catch and then extinguish the flame so that it smoulders.

Depending on the burner design and airflow, the lid may need to remain partially or completely removed while the cone burns.

Never allow a burning cone to sit directly against decorative surfaces if excessive heat is developing.

Using Resin Incense & Charcoal

For loose resin incense, use a substantial layer of incense sand to insulate the base.

Place a charcoal disc securely on the sand and allow it to ignite according to the charcoal manufacturer's instructions before adding a small quantity of resin.

Charcoal becomes extremely hot, so keep the lid off unless the burner is specifically designed to provide adequate ventilation with it fitted.

The entire burner may become hot during use.

Tealights & Small Candles

The bowl may also accommodate a suitably sized tealight or small ritual candle where it can be positioned safely.

Use with the lid removed and ensure the flame has plenty of clearance from the sides and decorative metalwork.

Direct candle heat may gradually darken or mark the antique-effect finish, so this use may change the appearance of the burner over time.
