14" Lakota Native American Deer Hide Drum is a beautifully handcrafted ceremonial frame drum, made in the traditional Lakota/Plains style by a skilled artisan who trained under an elder Lakota drum maker. The drum is created with full intention, prayer, and ceremony honouring the spiritual essence of the animal and the sacred practice of drumming.

The deer hide produces soft to mid-range tones and is known for its sensitivity and delicacy, making it ideal for healing work, ritual use, and sound meditation. The maple wood frame is strong yet lightweight, and the drum is tightly laced using the sacred four directional tie, making it easy and comfortable to hold over longer periods.

This drum is built to perform in a range of environments, although a drum case is advised to protect the tone from moisture or humidity. The hide is fully wrapped to minimise fluctuations in tone and to increase durability. Despite deer hide’s sensitivity, these drums are remarkably stable and resonant.

Each drum is individually crafted, so natural variations in colour and texture will occur. Supplied with a matching hand tied beater with a natural hide head for a firmer tone.

Ethically Sourced:
All hides are ethically sourced and honoured as part of the sacred drum making process. Animals are either wild or free-roaming, never factory farmed. No animal is killed for the sole purpose of drum making; many hides come from animals that passed naturally. This respect for the animal’s spirit is deeply rooted in traditional practice and reflected in every drum.

Uses:
Ideal for Native American style ceremonies, personal ritual, shamanic journeying, drumming circles, energy healing, and meditation.

Please Note:
This is a natural product. Variations in colour, markings, and tone are to be expected. A protective drum case is recommended to help preserve the quality of the skin.
