What Are Chumpi Stones?
Chumpi (sometimes spelled Chunpi) comes from the Quechua language, spoken throughout the Andes of Peru and Bolivia. Quechua is a deeply sensory and relational language, shaped by lived experience rather than abstract definition.
Chumpi stones are sacred Andean tools used to work with the energetic belts or bands within and around the body. When a stone becomes consecrated and set aside for spiritual purpose, it is known as a Khuya—a “beloved” or “transformed” stone.
