A compact, practical brass incense burner with a subtle etched motif and a simple hand-painted green wash. At 7.5 cm across it’s built for everyday use: the removable fine-mesh lid catches ash and embers while still letting smoke drift freely, making the piece tidy and honest rather than fussy. For safe, neat burning place a little horticultural or kiln sand in the base (a thin 1–2 cm layer works well) to protect the metal and spread the heat, then choose how you want to use it — remove the lid and slot in standard sticks or larger palo santo-style sticks, or replace the lid and use the mesh for burning white sage bundles, charcoal discs with gum resins, loose resin incense or powdered blends. Solid, low-fuss and tactile, it’s the sort of small altar tool that sits quietly on a shelf or beside a bed and does its job without drama. Quick use tips: add sand to the base before lighting; always light on the mesh or with the lid removed as described; allow embers to cool fully before emptying ash. Keep on a heatproof surface and never leave burning incense unattended.

Product details

How to use

  1. Place the burner on a flat, heat-resistant surface away from drafts.

  2. For charcoal: light until glowing, place on the mesh and add resin or loose incense above.

  3. For sticks: secure short sticks in the mesh or use a small brass insert if available; angle so ash falls into the base.

  4. When fully cool, remove mesh, empty ash and wipe with a soft cloth.

Care & safety

  • Always use on a heatproof surface and never leave burning incense unattended. Keep away from children, pets and flammable materials.

  • Clean out cold ash regularly; remove mesh for gentle brushing or rinsing, then dry thoroughly.

  • To preserve the hand-painted finish and patina, avoid abrasive cleaners and harsh polishing. A soft dry cloth is best. Polishing will remove the patina/paint.

  • For heavy resin or long charcoal burns, use a separate heatproof dish — the burner is intended for normal household ritual use, not industrial heat.

  • Expect slight variations in etching and hand paint — these are natural and part of the handmade character.

This compact brass burner keeps ritual simple. The surface carries a neat etched motif — low key, not ornate — finished with a plain hand-painted green wash that gives the piece a friendly, used look. That finish helps the burner sit comfortably in both contemporary and traditional altars: understated rather than showy.

A fine mesh lid fits snugly, catching ash while still allowing the aromatic smoke to rise in an even, gentle stream. Because of this, the burner is flexible: light a charcoal disc and place resins on the mesh, burn loose incense, or use short sticks angled into the mesh so ash falls inside. The brass construction is robust and portable, while the painted finish and evolving patina mean each piece will age slightly differently — a small, honest detail you’ll see over time.

Practical for daily clearing, offerings or momentary pauses, it’s the kind of object that does its job without fuss. Empty and wipe after use, avoid aggressive cleaning, and it will give years of service and quiet presence.
