Red Kite American Drone Flute in Oak 440Hz (Eb Note) – Handcrafted English Oak Body with Mahogany Nose & Standard Block

Beautifully handcrafted in the UK, this Red Kite American Drone Flute in Eb (440 Hz) is made from rich English brown oak, complemented by a mahogany nose and standard block. Each flute is created with care, precision, and musical intention, offering a mellow, earthy tone that speaks with warmth and balance.

The drone flute’s twin-voice design produces a layered harmony—one chamber carrying the melody while the other sustains a resonant drone. This pairing creates a deeply meditative and grounding sound, ideal for ceremony, sound healing, personal practice, or musical performance.

Equally suited to beginners and experienced players, the flute’s natural simplicity and resonance make it a soulful, intuitive instrument. The locally sourced English hardwoods lend each flute its own distinctive grain, tone, and visual character.

Sustainably Sourced English Timber

Most of the timber is ethically and locally sourced within the UK, with traceable origins and a strong commitment to sustainability. Great care is taken from felling to milling, ensuring that every flute honours the life of the tree it came from.

Craftsmanship and Quality

Each flute is individually handcrafted for tonal balance, build integrity, and lasting durability. Natural features—knots, pips, and burrs—are celebrated rather than hidden, adding uniqueness and soul to each piece. Where needed, small natural marks are carefully stabilised using traditional methods that preserve tone and strength. Every flute is treated, sealed, and finished to last a lifetime with mindful care.

About the Drone Flute

The American-style drone flute carries two voices: a melody and a continuous drone tone. Together they create a harmonic resonance that is grounding yet expansive. The steady drone supports the melody like breath beneath heartbeat, making it ideal for meditation, ceremony, and sound healing.

Sound & Symbolism

Tuned to Eb (440 Hz), the Red Kite Drone Flute offers a warm, resonant timbre that blends depth with clarity. English oak symbolises strength and grounding, while mahogany adds balance and creative warmth. This pairing mirrors the instrument’s nature—strength beneath song.
