Which Incense Cone Should I Choose? Dhoop vs. Waterfall Backflow

The primary difference lies in size, burn duration, and how the smoke behaves. Dhoop incense cones are smaller, stand-alone cones that are typically burned in a standard incense holder or outdoors. They produce a steady stream of fragrant smoke that simply rises into the air, making them suitable for traditional incense use.

Waterfall (backflow) incense cones, on the other hand, are larger and generally burn for a longer period. They’re specially designed with a tiny hole in their base that allows smoke to flow downward rather than upward when used with a backflow incense burner. This creates a stunning waterfall-like effect as the smoke cascades through the burner’s pathways, adding a visually captivating element to the aromatic experience.

Backflow incense is different to dhoop cone incense. Firstly it is a larger cone with a key added feature. It has a tiny hole in the bottom. This creates a downward movement when lit and it warms up. These type of incense are used in combination with backflow incense burners creating an incense waterfall effect. The backflow burners come in varying shapes and sizes that combine create a mesmerising effect.

Waterfall incense when paired correctly is drawn downwards before dispersing upwards.

How long will the Waterfall incense effect take to work?

It is normal for cones to take up to 10 minutes after being lit to start creating the smoking/mist effect.

What is a waterfall otherwise known backflow incense burner?

A waterfall or backflow incense burner is a special type of incense holder designed to create a mesmerizing visual effect as well as release fragrance. These burners are crafted with a unique design that allows the smoke from the incense cone to flow downward, creating a cascading or waterfall-like effect. The term "backflow" refers to the way the smoke moves in reverse, contrary to the typical upward flow of incense smoke. The result is a captivating and tranquil display, often enhancing the overall sensory experience during meditation or relaxation.

How do I choose the right waterfall backflow incense cones?

Choosing the appropriate waterfall backflow incense cones is simple; look for labels like "Waterfall" or the more common "Backflow" or "Backflow Dhoop cones" on the packaging.
