Originating from the Tibetan tradition and handcrafted in the Chaken style, this bowl has a slightly more textured, antique appearance but produces the same rich, harmonically layered tones found in temple and healing practice.

With its 18–19 cm diameter and 775–875 g weight, it’s a medium-sized meditation bowl — ideal for deep sound healing, mindfulness, and clearing energy. Each bowl is unique, forged and hammered by hand from a blend of copper, tin, and noble metals, then finished in tones of antique gold or blackened patina that give it natural character and warmth.

The Chaken Singing Bowl is created through an intricate hand-hammering process passed down through generations.
Each bowl begins as a precise blend of seven to nine metals, melted, poured into discs, and shaped entirely by hand.

During crafting, several heated metal discs are stacked and beaten red-hot by skilled artisans — a rhythm of sound and flame that slowly brings the bowl to life. The process continues until the desired thickness, shape, and tone are achieved.
This ancient technique creates unique variations in each piece — no two bowls are ever identical — and results in a tone that’s rich, grounding, and long-lasting.

The thin rim and flared edge of the Chaken design produce harmonics that rise and fall gracefully, blending deep resonance with shimmering clarity.

How to Play a Singing Bowl

  1. Hold the Bowl: Rest it lightly on your open palm to allow free vibration.
  2. Strike the Rim: Tap gently with the striker to awaken the tone.

  4. Experiment: Adjust pressure and speed to reveal layers of sound.

What Is a Singing Bowl Rubbing Stick?

The striker or rubbing stick is crafted from hardwood and designed to draw out both the low hum and shimmering overtone of the bowl.

Different striker materials (wood, felt, leather) can shape the sound — wood for brightness, felt for softness, leather for warmth.

How to Use a Singing Bowl Beater

Tracking Information
