The Remo 22″ Buffalo Drum – Original Journey Drum (Generation 1) is one of the most recognised synthetic shamanic drums used in holistic and spiritual practices. Developed with the influence of anthropologist Michael Harner, the drum became widely known as a “Journey Drum” used for rhythmic meditation and shamanic journeying.
This original Remo buffalo drum features the classic grey and white FiberSkyn® synthetic drum head, designed to replicate the tone and appearance of natural hide while remaining fully vegan-friendly and durable in all environments.
Because it uses a synthetic head rather than animal skin, this drum is often chosen as a vegan shamanic drum, offering practitioners an ethical alternative while maintaining the traditional sound and feel associated with ceremonial frame drums.
Used by holistic practitioners, musicians, and ceremonial groups alike, the drum is commonly played in journey work, meditation, Reiki drumming circles, fire ceremonies, sweat lodge gatherings, sound healing sessions, and sound therapy practices.
The drum includes a rope handle and natural-style beater.
