In the Celtic traditions of northern Europe, the year was marked by eight seasonal festivals—the solstices, equinoxes, and cross-quarter days. These were moments when time itself seemed to stand still, and communities gathered to honour the great cosmic story of the Earth Goddess and the Sun Child.

At the Summer Solstice, the Sun King reached his peak. By harvest time, his life-force had waned, yet his final gift ripened the fruit of the land. The Earth Goddess mourned his passing, until she realised she carried new life within her. At Winter Solstice, the Sun was reborn, and the cycle began anew.

These festivals were not symbolic abstractions but essential rites of survival, marking the rhythm of planting, growing, harvesting, and resting. Though modern life often obscures these cycles, their pulse still beats quietly within us.

About the Blend

Star Child incense blends are created using old ceremonial recipes rooted in traditional magical and spiritual practice. How to Use Natural Resin Incense

1. Place a self-lighting charcoal disc in a heat-proof incense burner or censer.
2. Light the edge of the charcoal until it sparks and crackles.
3. Allow it to fully ignite and turn grey with ash.
4. Add a small pinch of the resin incense to the glowing centre.
5. Allow the aroma to gently fill the space.
