Chinchero Shaman Mestana Mesa Cloth – Sacred Andean Textile - Earth - Naturals
Fresh off the hand loom and never used in ceremony, these beautifully finished Mestana Mesa cloth has been specially woven from fine wool alpaca for us by Andean shaman artisans. Soft yet strong, it carries the living tradition of high-mountain weaving where every colour, pattern, and thread holds meaning.
A mesa or mestana is a sacred cloth used in prayer, blessing rituals, and healing work to hold power objects, medicine stones, and sacred items. The word mesa refers to the plains, while mestana reflects the high plains of the Andes — a landscape where sky, earth, and spirit meet.
Woven in the lineage of the Q’ero and Chinchero traditions, these cloths serve as personal altar spaces, medicine bundles, and symbolic maps of the inner and outer worlds.
